One of the standout dishes at Vish is their Jerusalem Hummus Bowl, which features a delicious combination of hummus, artichoke, mushrooms, garlic confit, and a variety of spices and herbs. The Vegan Shawarma Hummus is also a crowd favorite, with its blend of vegan shawarma, cumin, and olive oil.
For those looking for something more filling, the SandVish options at Vish are a must-try. The SandVish Kabab, made with beef kabab, hummus, and pickled onions, is a flavorful and satisfying choice.
Overall, Vish offers a unique dining experience with a focus on fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Whether you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or just looking for something new and exciting to try, Vish is definitely worth a visit.
Vish is undoubtedly the epitome of hummus perfection. In a prime location, inviting, delightful dining experience. The owners' passion for hummus is very clear to see. Rich and authentic flavors. Awesome music. A solid 5/5 for an exceptional hummus haven.
This adorable Mediterranean restaurant is located in downtown Edmonton. Owned by the hospitable Zvika & Karin Eshe, this restaurant brings a fresh and nutritious option to the Edmonton food scene! I tried the following dishes: Happy All Day Brunch which includes: the Classic Shakshuka, Hummus, Tahini, Babaganush, Hot peppers, and Challah bread; Falafel Pita Pocket; BBQ Pulled Beef Plate which includes: Majadra rice, Chopped salad, and Hummus! My favourites were without a doubt were the Shakshuka with the Challah, and the BBQ Beef! Both were just oozing with flavour and had me planning my next visit! To wash it all down, Zvika offered us some Turkish coffee and it was lovely. In terms of taste, it’s not too bitter like most black coffee, but has a gentle floral note to it. I also ordered their Omega and Memory VISH Plant-based Shakes to go. At roughly 12 per shake, you might be wondering what is so special— or at least I was! These shakes are super rich and packed super foods, like Tahini. The shakes are very thick, so think of them more like a meal replacement! One thing I really loved about VISH is the freshness and quality of their ingredients. Across all their dishes, it is clear that is a priority and just takes their food up a notch. If you’re plant-based, in the mood for a taste of the Mediterranean/Middle East, or even just want a healthy meal, I cannot recommend VISH enough! Thank you to Zvika & Karin for being such lovely hosts, and having me at your restaurant!
[edit] The name and menu has changed but the friendly service and Shakshuka remain the same. Still worth the visit. ...
Vish means wipe and you'll love to wipe the fluffiest pita with the smoothest hummus ever! The shawarma chicken challah bread was my favourite. The bread has a nice sweet tone to it with a beautifully spiced chicken. I also ordered the shakshuka brunch. It came with some side dishes like hot peppers salad and babaganoush. The shakshuka is the best in Edmonton. Don't skip out on the falafel! It has a tasty crispy outer coating. The smoothies are very nutritious and are entirely plant based. Thank you for such a great meal.
I visited Vish today for brunch, and the experience was truly amazing! The cafe's atmosphere was delightful, and the food was absolutely delicious. Every dish I tried was incredibly tasty and of exceptional quality. My partner, who has been to Middle East before, also raved about the authenticity of Vish's hummus, saying it reminded him of the one he had back then during his trip. As a huge fan of hummus myself, I can confidently say that this was the best I've ever tried in Edmonton . I highly recommend indulging in their Sandvish, hummus, and shakshuka - all of them were truly delightful and are my personal favorites. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
I love the hummus at Vish! One of the few places where you can eat a lot of food but don’t feel guilty after because the sauces and the bread is just so light of a meal
Seriously delicious. Comfort food, perfected. So fresh and flavourful. They were out of chicken, and subbed meatballs. I’m so glad they did. The pulled beef was also amazing. And of course the hummus. Not your typical supermarket variety. Think of peanut butter that tastes like chickpeas and tahina and olive olive. Just make sure to order pita. It doesn’t come with the meals.
We have been here many times and the food is always wonderful. The hummus is very good and the Falafel Challah Bread "Sandvish" is our go-to order. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and all the food is fresh every time we go, made to order. I recommend the Malibi for desert, it's a really nice rosewater pudding! The "Delicious Falafel" sign out front is not joking - it is seriously the best.
